I read something the other day about a living obit I read something the other day about a living obituary. This can work two ways:

1. You tell the people you love all the good things about them today, while they are still alive, instead of when they are dead.

2. You imagine what you want people to say when you die, and then live your life accordingly. What do you want your legacy to be? Who are you really and how do you want to be remembered? As kind, loyal, loving and trustworthy? If so, be that person now.

Donnie was that person - kind, loyal, loving and trustworthy. This photo is from my wedding, 29 years ago. I believe when you participate in someone’s wedding it is not just a testament to your friendship - it’s a responsibility. You are witness to a life-long commitment and as such, you are pledging to be the village that holds that marriage together. He absolutely loved my family and held us together. I will forever be grateful. He leaves behind a legacy of true friendship and deep commitment with the love of his life. May we all have a living obituary such as @donnieboofficial 😢💔

Been bumping this since release and it definitely Been bumping this since release and it definitely brings me back to my OG LA days, back when Snoop Dogg briefly lived on my block in Palms (so the story goes) and one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to at the Meadowlands, Up in Smoke Tour. There are some solid hits on here: California, Too Big, Motto; my favs are I Got Pull, Ghetto Gutter and Have a Nice Day - which has the best refrain, like ever. The only critique I have is that I do wish that we could have evolved out of the bitch/ho lyrics (at age 50 years+) because the flow and beats are just as good as they ever were. #mountwestmore #OGsOG #haveaniceday #westcoast✌🏽👊🏽
This is the 2nd time that I felt that a place was This is the 2nd time that I felt that a place was “mine” that I was forced to leave. The first time it was the first home I ever bought and I painted the bathroom a deep red and antiqued a mirror by hand - by the time it was over I looked like a murder scene. There were many years of living in some randomly decorated place before I found This Place, and while only a rental, I thoughtfully decorated with fantastic furniture and art and I styled every bookcase and table. It wasn’t even about the killer ocean view or gorgeous sunrises and sunsets (though those were really nice), it was that I poured love into every corner and the people living in it, to make it a home. #goodbye 🏠 #trauma😢
Death sucksssssss. He is gone way too soon, WHAT T Death sucksssssss. He is gone way too soon, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT. I am grateful that I saw him recently, got a long hug, and listened to him chat up @theskyeblues about everything. He loved his family hard and was happiest right in the middle of us all, just like in the photo. Rest in peace Cousin Eddie. #deathsucks🖕🏽😢💔

This is the 5th death that I have mourned this year. FIVE! WHAT. THE. HELL. And people continue to take love for granted when love is all there is, all that matters. If you are blessed to have people who love you, hold on tight and be blessed because life is not promised. And regret is a mother fucker. Don’t let that be you.
